Saining Ritual

$200 (60min)

Saining is a very old Celtic blessing which means ‘to make sacred’ and is a crucial ritual/ceremony in Celtic cultures that is used to cleanse and protect, clearing away the old and consecrating fertile grounds for the flourishing of new life. Using saining to cleanse individuals, families and communities has long weaved sacred energies through a combination of water, (sometimes I will add essential oils or herbs to this), smoke from burning the Juniper (though sometimes I will use wormwood and mugwort) and poetry or song (I will often sing or speak to ancestors across the veil). These elements and herbs have cultural connotations with the dead and as such, transform spaces, objects and peoples into portals that thin the veil between our world and the Otherworlds, allowing clearer communion with ancestors and other spirits.

Initiation Ritual

$200 (60min)

This ritual is recommended to those who have already begun exploring their cultural roots and wish to commemorate the lifelong commitment to serve their lineage, through ceremony. Clients are welcomed to sit with me as we explore your intentions and gain initial guidance to questions you might have about the path ahead. The session concludes with an initiation ceremony at the river (which in Celtic culture marks the border between worlds), combining the use of elements belonging to land, water and sky.

'The Mother spoke to the girl of the path she had to carve for herself and others like her; and so she walked upon the Earth until her feet bled like the rivers that feed the soil.'

I respectfully acknowledge those peoples and spirits of the Wadawurrung, Eastern Marr, Bunurong, Gulidjan and Gadubanud lands, as well as to their elders past and present. Without them caring for Country, my ancestors would not have found sanctuary here. On behalf of myself and my lineages, I express our deepest gratitude.
